2001 – 2005. Street Musicians Festival

The adventure called the Street Musicians Festival begins in 2001, based on the idea of Borislav Beljanski, today the Festival director, created with the intention to place premium musicians in the streets of Novi Sad and make their art available for all.

During its early years  the Festival successfully changes the old notion that playing in the street is near begging, and the street artists exist only somewhere in Europe.

In 2003 Aleksandar Carić becomes the art director for the foreign program. He himself a street artist, every year since then has invited numerous friends and colleagues from Italy and other European countries, retaining a high level of artistic value as one of the most important Festival criteria.

During the first five editions, the Festival grows into a great cultural event, creating a numerous fan base and standing shoulder to shoulder with several other bigger cultural events in Novi Sad.
